Anniversary of the Soviet aggression against Poland

September 17 is a special date in the history of Poland. On that day in 1939, the Red Army entered the territory of the Republic of Poland. The attack was part of the secret Ribbentrop-Molotov pact made by Germany and Russia before the outbreak of World War II.

After the USSR attacked Poland, over 200,000 people were arrested. Poles - officers, policemen, landowners and lawyers. The citizens of the Republic of Poland were forced to accept Soviet citizenship. Mass deportations to Siberia covered about 1 million 350 thousand Poles; about 22.5 thousand officers and policemen were secretly killed in Katyn, Kharkiv and Tver.

The HEureka Generator Association, as the organizer of living history lessons, feels obliged to recall this date today. We additionally publish a living history lesson with Mr. Józef Mołodecki, who told us two years ago about deportations to Siberia and the conditions in which the Polish exiles lived. Check HERE.

At the same time, we would like to inform you that we met Mr. Józef again last week. He was so kind that he agreed to record his story this time as a video. We are currently working on editing this material. Soon it will appear on our website lekcjezywejhistorii.pl.
